While working in New York for an advertising company, Mike realized that traditional forms of media were in severe decline. With a desire to start his own business and jump off a sinking ship, he quit his job and started tinkering with online video marketing. He started by offering consulting advice to student travel companies on how they could market their videos. Then it occurred to him that many of the organizations he was dealing with created videos with a TV-style format, which had little success online. These videos were too long and did not offer viewers opportunities for interaction.
After noticing this problem he started Vismo Media, a company that specializes in producing and marketing videos on the Internet. He noticed that a video’s message has to be short and to the point. Also, many new marketing opportunities are available with interactive video players that can be used online, and not on television.
He later convinced his cousin, an avid filmmaker, to jump on board and build their team.
